Pasadena

Two residents from Orange County, Marissa Monique Sanchez, aged 25, and Roman Isael Salgado, aged 23, have been arrested in Mission Viejo on July 17, in connection with an armed robbery and shooting incident that occurred in Pasadena on April 25. The two suspects are accused of robbing a victim at gunpoint and subsequently injuring the victim when he attempted to escape.

The robbery took place on the 100 block of East Holly Street near Memorial Park around 9:55 p.m. on the date of the incident. Police responded swiftly to reports of gunfire and found the victim at the scene. Officers provided immediate medical assistance before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Fortunately, the victim survived his injuries, but the experience remains a harrowing ordeal.

According to police reports, the victim had been lured to Pasadena under false pretenses. Upon arrival, he was robbed at gunpoint of jewelry and other valuables. The suspects then forced the victim into their vehicle and drove him to multiple ATM locations, coercing him to withdraw cash while threatening violence if he did not comply.

The situation escalated when the victim attempted to escape from the suspects’ vehicle. During this attempt, he was shot, leading to the emergency response from law enforcement. The victim’s resilience allowed him to survive the attack, but the incident paints a chilling picture of the lengths to which the suspects were willing to go to rob their target.

In the wake of these events, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has charged Sanchez with felony robbery. In contrast, Salgado faces multiple serious charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping to commit another crime, and robbery. The gravity of these charges reflects the violent nature of the crime and the threat the suspects posed to their victim.

Authorities are actively seeking additional information about the case. Those who may have witnessed the incident or have further details are urged to contact the Pasadena police department at 626-744-4241. Alternatively, individuals can provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).

The arrest of Sanchez and Salgado highlights ongoing concerns surrounding violent crime in urban areas. Pasadena, like many cities, struggles with issues related to crime and safety, making community involvement and law enforcement partnerships crucial in addressing these problems. The efforts of local police to apprehend suspects in such cases demonstrate the importance of public safety and community vigilance.

The investigation into this armed robbery and shooting incident continues as police gather more details and search for any additional witnesses who may assist in building a clearer picture of the events that transpired. Community members are reminded to remain aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activities to local authorities.
