Pacific Symphony will kick off a series of free outdoor concerts across Orange County starting with a concert in La Habra featuring a string quartet. The concerts aim to enhance community engagement and cultural appreciation by bringing orchestral music to various neighborhoods. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for a comfortable outdoor experience. The series will continue throughout the summer across multiple locations in Orange County, offering a diverse selection of musical selections from classical and contemporary composers.
La Habra will kick off a series of free outdoor concerts across Orange County on Sunday, June 15, 2025. The concerts, part of the Pacific Symphony’s outreach program, will feature a unique “Symphony on the Go” mobile stage that allows performances to reach various communities. The first performance will take place at Portola Park, located at 301 South Euclid Street, starting at 6:30 PM.
The inaugural concert will feature a talented string quartet, conducted by Michael Siess. The ensemble comprises musicians including:
– Michael Siess, violin
– Sooah Kim, violin
– Hanbyul Jang, viola
– László Mezo, cello
Musical selections for the evening will highlight works by renowned composers, including Antonio Vivaldi, Phillip Glass, and iconic bands such as The Beatles and Radiohead. Attendees are advised to bring lawn chairs and blankets for comfort as they enjoy the performances in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Following the La Habra concert, the series will continue as follows:
– June 25, 2025: Aliso Viejo with a Woodwind Quintet led by Josh Ranz at Soka University Campus Green (1 University Drive) at 6:30 PM.
– June 26, 2025: Stanton featuring the same Woodwind Quintet at Stanton Central Park (10660 Western Avenue) at 7:30 PM.
– June 27, 2025: Mission Viejo at Napoli Park (27682 Napoli Way) at 6:30 PM.
– June 28, 2025: Seal Beach at Eisenhower Park (Ocean Ave and Main Street) at 6:00 PM.
July will see additional performances on:
– July 16, 2025: Huntington Beach with a Brass Quintet led by Barry Perkins at Central Park (7111 Talbert Avenue) at 6:00 PM.
– July 17, 2025: Dana Point featuring the same Brass Quintet at Pines Park (34941 Camino Capistrano) at 6:00 PM.
The concert series will extend through August and September, including other locations such as Buena Park, La Palma, Rancho Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, and San Clemente.
The Pacific Symphony’s free summer concert series aims to foster community engagement and increase accessibility to orchestral music.
