The development site will take over a shopping center location, necessitating the demolition of a former Bed, Bath & Beyond store. Plans for this project were given the green light by Mission Viejo’s Planning and Transportation Commission in March of 2025.

Costco aims to ease heavy traffic congestion at its existing warehouse locations with this standalone gas station. The concept aligns with the company’s long-term strategy to enhance membership value by offering lower fuel prices and a 5% rewards program for credit cardholders. In fact, gas sales represented nearly one in eight dollars of the company’s total earnings last year, contributing approximately $30 billion to its revenue.
