Mission Viejo Hosts Bike-X and Helmets Community Event

News Summary

On May 31, 2025, Mission Viejo will hold the Bike-X and Helmets event, featuring a BMX stunt show, free helmets for kids, and safety information from local authorities. The event aims to promote safe biking among youth and community engagement, with various activities at The Shops at Mission Viejo. Families are encouraged to join the festivities and learn more about bike safety.

Mission Viejo will be the site of an exciting community event on May 31, 2025, as the City of Mission Viejo, in collaboration with Providence Mission Hospital and The Shops at Mission Viejo, presents the Bike-X and Helmets event. The festivities will take place from 11 am to 2 pm in the parking lot near Macy’s Women’s at The Shops at Mission Viejo.

One of the main attractions will be the Perfection on Wheels BMX stunt show, showcasing BMX riders performing death-defying tricks and stunts. The BMX performances are scheduled to take place at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 1:30 pm, offering thrill-seekers plenty of opportunities to catch the action.

In an effort to promote safety among young riders, Providence Mission Hospital’s trauma team will be distributing 800 free multi-sport style black helmets to children aged 2-17, while supplies last. This initiative aims to encourage safe biking practices among youth in the community.

In addition to the BMX show and helmet giveaway, attendees can visit a Dick’s Sporting Goods display featuring e-bikes. This exhibit will provide valuable information regarding appropriate rider ages and the differences between electric bikes and traditional bicycles. This is particularly relevant as e-bikes continue to gain popularity among cyclists of all ages.

Local law enforcement and emergency services will also be heavily involved in the event, with representatives from the Mission Viejo Police Services, Laguna Beach Police, California Highway Patrol (CHP), and the Orange County Fire Authority participating. They will offer activities and provide important safety information applicable to all bikers.

The Orange County Transportation Authority will add to the day’s excitement by hosting a prize wheel activity, where participants can win complimentary bike safety equipment. Furthermore, attendees will have the unique opportunity to explore various police and emergency vehicles on display throughout the event, which will be both educational and entertaining.

This event marks a significant effort by local organizations to foster community spirit while focusing on the importance of bike safety among youth. By providing resources and engaging activities, the Bike-X and Helmets event aims to promote safe riding habits and a healthy lifestyle within the Mission Viejo community.

For those interested in learning more or requiring additional information about the event, they can contact the event coordinators at 949-470-8433.

The Bike-X and Helmets event promises to be an action-packed day filled with entertainment, education, and community engagement—an opportunity families won’t want to miss. Mark your calendars for May 31 and join in the festivities at The Shops at Mission Viejo parking lot!
