The Cardboard Boat Derby is a competitive yet light-hearted activity where teams of four will construct their own boats using specially provided materials. Each team receives two pieces of cardboard, one roll of duct tape, and one utility knife to create a vessel capable of racing across the pool. After being given just one hour to build their boats, teams will take turns racing their finished creations, with a single rider navigating each boat during the race segment.
In addition to the races, the Cardboard Boat Derby will feature various community pre-race activities. Families are welcome to enjoy recreational swimming, games, and other engaging activities throughout the event. This atmosphere promotes community involvement, making it an excellent way for residents to connect and have fun.
Participation in the boat derby requires an entry fee of $30 per team, comprising up to four members.
