The win sets Cajon up for their next challenge as they prepare to host Vista Murrieta, who holds a record of 7-4, in the upcoming second round of the playoffs. The game showcased Cajon’s offensive prowess, with the team scoring touchdowns on eight consecutive possessions following an early turnover on downs.
Cajon’s quarterback, Evan Powell, delivered an outstanding performance, completing 24 of 32 passes for a remarkable 453 yards and three touchdowns while avoiding any interceptions. In addition to his adept passing, Powell also contributed on the ground, rushing for 26 yards and scoring another touchdown. His dominant first-half display included throwing for 311 yards, indicating a strong offensive coordination throughout the game.
Providing essential support to Powell were his teammates, Jered Rennick and Hector Garcia, both of whom surpassed the 100 receiving yard mark, demonstrating the depth of Cajon’s offensive capabilities.
