Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery and shooting that occurred in Pasadena on April 25, 2025. The Pasadena Police Department apprehended the suspects, identified as Marissa Monique Sanchez, 25, and Roman Isael Salgado, 23, on July 17, 2025, in Mission Viejo, California. Both individuals are residents of San Juan Capistrano.

The violent incident began on the evening of April 25 when Pasadena Police Department officers responded to a shooting call around 9:53 p.m. near the 100 block of E. Holly St. in Old Pasadena. Upon arrival, officers found a victim who had been shot and immediately rendered aid. Emergency medical services transported the victim to a local hospital where he underwent surgery. Fortunately, the victim survived the incident.

The investigation, led by detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery Homicide Unit, quickly uncovered that the victim had been lured to Pasadena under false pretenses. Once there, the victim was confronted by the two suspects, who demanded his jewelry and other valuables at gunpoint. The suspects further coerced the victim to withdraw cash from several ATM locations while threatening him with harm.

While attempting to escape from the vehicle in which he was confined, the victim was shot, resulting in severe injuries. Authorities acted promptly, which resulted in the police launching a broad investigation to bring the responsible individuals into custody.

Following their arrests on July 17, both suspects faced serious legal consequences. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed multiple charges against the suspects on July 18. Sanchez was charged with one felony count of robbery, with her bail set at $100,000. Salgado faced more serious charges that include attempted murder, kidnapping to commit another crime, and robbery, with bail set at a staggering $1,080,000.

The Pasadena Police Department continues to encourage the public to assist in the investigation. Anyone with further information regarding this case is urged to contact the department directly at (626) 744-4241. Anonymous tips can also be reported to Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).

In terms of background, armed robberies and violent crimes have been significant concerns for law enforcement in many urban areas, prompting increased police presence and community outreach programs aimed at prevention and safety.
