Pasadena – Orange County Couple Charged After Armed Robbery and Shooting

A man and woman from Orange County have been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following an armed robbery and shooting incident that occurred in Pasadena on April 25. The suspects, Marissa Monique Sanchez, 25, and Roman Isael Salgado, 23, both residents of San Juan Capistrano, now face serious criminal charges stemming from their actions during the event.

The incident took place around 9:55 p.m. in the 100 block of East Holly Street. Police were alerted when a report was made regarding a man shot at the scene. Upon arrival, officers found the victim had been injured and provided immediate medical assistance until paramedics arrived. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and has since survived his injuries.

According to investigations by the Pasadena Police Department, the victim had been lured to the area under false pretenses. During the robbery, he was reportedly held at gunpoint by the suspects, who demanded his jewelry and other valuables. Under threat of violence, the victim was forced to withdraw money from several ATMs. The situation escalated when, attempting to escape from the suspects’ vehicle, the victim was shot, resulting in severe injuries.

Charges Filed Against Suspects

As a result of the investigation, Sanchez has been charged with one felony count of robbery. Meanwhile, Salgado faces a more extensive list of accusations, including attempted murder, kidnapping to commit another crime, and robbery.

The couple was arrested on July 17 in Mission Viejo, California, highlighting the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to apprehend those involved in violent crimes. The Pasadena Police Department is continuing its investigation and has urged anyone with additional information regarding the suspects or the incident to come forward. Individuals can contact the department directly at 626-744-4241 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).

Background of the Incident

Armed robberies and violent crimes present serious threats to community safety. In this particular case, the quick response from the Pasadena Police and medical teams ensured that the victim received timely care, which contributed to his survival despite the grave circumstances. The investigation revealed that the victim was actively deceived into the situation that led to the robbery, underscoring the need for caution and awareness regarding personal safety when reacting to offers that seem too good to be true.

The charges against Sanchez and Salgado reflect a growing concern over violent crime in many urban areas. Law enforcement agencies are vigilant in tracking and arresting individuals involved in such criminal enterprises, emphasizing their commitment to the safety and security of residents.
