Inaugural Aqua Knuckles SCM Fall Classic Set for 2025

News Summary

The Aqua Knuckles SCM Fall Classic will be held in La Canada, California, bringing together masters swimmers for competitive racing. Organized by Spartans Masters, the event will offer cash prizes for world records and feature renowned athletes, including paralympians. With food vendors and swim-specific offerings, this gathering aims to promote competition and community while showcasing athletic talent just before Thanksgiving.

La Canada, California – The inaugural Aqua Knuckles SCM Fall Classic is set to take place on November 15 and 16, 2025, hosting masters swimmers from across the country. This new competitive swimming event, organized by the rapidly emerging Spartans Masters, offers an exciting platform for swimmers aged 18 and older who are registered with US Masters. The event will be held in a 25-meter format, with participants vying for cash prizes for masters world records.

Since its formation in January 2025, Spartans Masters has gained recognition as one of the fastest teams in U.S. masters swimming, recently breaking five USMS National records at the SPMS Southwest Zone Long Course Meters Championship in August 2025. At that championship meet, swimmer Daria Chebotareva set a new National Age Group (NAG) record in the 50 backstroke event, showcasing the team’s prowess in competitive swimming.

The Aqua Knuckles SCM Fall Classic is anticipated to attract notable talent, including American Paralympic swimmer Jamal Hill. Hill, who won a bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, is a well-respected figure in the swimming community and founder of the Swim Up Hill Foundation, which advocates for swimming safety education in communities of color at risk of drowning. His participation adds significant excitement to the upcoming event.

In addition to the competitive races, the Aqua Knuckles SCM Fall Classic will feature multiple food offerings and a variety of swim-specific vendors, including The Swim Guy and Triswim. The product sponsor of the event, Aqua Knuckles, provides training aids aimed at enhancing swimmers’ performance in the water.

In August at the SPMS championship, Spartans Masters not only established individual records, but their relay teams also posted impressive performances. The women’s 200 freestyle relay and mixed relays set records; however, these records could not be submitted for world record recognition due to the swimmers not meeting the age requirement of 25 years or older. The mixed 200 medley relay did set a new record with a time of 1:51.82, underscoring the team’s competitiveness and skill.

Other teams expected to participate in the Aqua Knuckles SCM Fall Classic include Southern California’s Aquatic Sports Performance (ASP), further enhancing the competitive landscape of the event. Registration for the meet is currently available online, encouraging a broad array of swimmers to take part in what promises to be a significant occasion in the masters swimming calendar.

This event is strategically scheduled just before the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday, making it an ideal time for swimmers to showcase their hard work and dedication. As the date approaches, the excitement mounts for not only the participants but also the swimming community supporting the athletes.

The Aqua Knuckles SCM Fall Classic is set to be a memorable gathering for masters swimmers, promoting competition, community, and recognition while continuing to elevate the standards in the sport.
