Aliso Viejo, CA – Independence Day 2025 is set to be a lively affair in Aliso Viejo and nearby communities, falling on a Friday, which will provide residents with a long three-day weekend to enjoy various celebrations. The city is gearing up for an array of events that include fireworks, parades, and family-friendly activities, inviting residents to come together in celebration of the nation’s birthday.

The Aliso Viejo Community Association is spearheading the main July 4 celebration at Grand Park, running from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event will include a concert, carnival games, family activities, and an impressive fireworks display scheduled to start at 9 p.m. to mark the occasion.

To ensure public safety, several street closures will be in effect on July 4, along with restricted access to parts of Heisler Park for a drone flyover planned as part of the celebrations in the area. This is intended to enhance the experience while ensuring the safety of all attendees.

In addition to Aliso Viejo, surrounding towns are also organizing their own events in honor of Independence Day. Notably, San Juan Capistrano will host a carnival beginning at 2 p.m., featuring rides, games, and food, concluding with a fireworks display at 9 p.m.

Newport Beach is set to kick off the festivities with the Newport Peninsula Bike Parade and Community Festival beginning at 9 a.m., offering various carnival games and food until 11:30 a.m. Later in the day, the Old Glory Boat Parade will start at 1 p.m. in Newport Harbor, followed by a fireworks display at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort at 9 p.m., which will be exclusive to Newport Beach residents with a photo ID.

Also, Dana Point will have a fireworks show at 9 p.m. near Doheny State Beach, with popular viewing spots available at different local parks. Meanwhile, Laguna Niguel will conduct its annual Run in the Parks event featuring a 5K and children’s races, alongside a free pool party and fireworks that will light up the sky over Laguna Niguel Regional Park at 9 p.m.

Lake Forest will host its “Family, Fun, and Freedom” parade starting at 9:30 a.m. with designated routes announced by local organizers. Furthermore, the Laguna Hills Community Center is setting up a celebration from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with food trucks, live music, carnival rides, and its own fireworks display at 9 p.m.

In Mission Viejo, the Street Faire and Fireworks Spectacular will take place from noon, offering live entertainment, food trucks, and concluding with fireworks at 9 p.m. on the Fourth of July.

Rancho Santa Margarita is preparing for the SAMLARC Star Spangled Spectacular, a dual event taking place on July 4 and July 5 that will include parades and fireworks. Meanwhile, San Clemente is debuting a new event, Stars, Stripes ‘N Slides, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a fireworks show later that evening at 9 p.m.

Huntington Beach will mark the day with its Surf City Run 5K, culminating in the traditional fireworks display at 9 p.m. The city of Tustin will celebrate at Tustin High School starting at 6 p.m., leading to a fireworks show at 9 p.m. as well.

Across Orange County, cities are actively preparing for a vibrant mix of concerts, family-friendly activities, and fireworks displays, offering residents a wide array of options to engage in community celebrations and enjoy the festive spirit of Independence Day.
